The Russian sovereign fund RDIF announced that the early results from world’s first mix and match joint clinical trials of Sputnik Light and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines in Russia and Azerbaijan revealed full safety of the combination, with no reports of serious adverse events.

Phase-2 interim results of the trials, which included 100 volunteers in Russia and 100 in Azerbaijan, revealed that the vaccine combination was associated with an acceptable safety profile, in line with the results of previous AstraZeneca, Sputnik V and Sputnik Lite vaccine clinical trials.
